The best time to book your ferry tickets to Menorca depends on your travel dates and how flexible you can be.

Ferry routes to Menorca are available daily with multiple crossings, ensuring convenience for travelers. However, for trips during the peak summer season (June to August), it’s best to book your tickets at least 1-2 months in advance, especially if you’re traveling with a car, to secure your preferred schedule.

If you're traveling to Menorca during the off-peak seasons, you can generally book your ferry tickets closer to your departure date. Keep in mind though, that some routes are seasonal and there are fewer daily crossings outside the peak months, so you may need to be more flexible.

1. If you’re traveling to/from Menorca during the busy summer months, make sure to reach the port at least 1 hr in advance, especially if you wish to bring along your vehicle.
2. While in Menorca, we recommend taking a day trip to Mallorca. Palma de Mallorca is 1-2 hr from the port of Ciutadella. 
3. The most convenient way to get around Menorca is by car or motorcycle. However, it is also easy to get around most towns and resorts by bus.

The ferries traveling to Menorca, whether conventional or highspeed, are equipped with modern facilities and a variety of amenities, including air-conditioned lounges, onboard bars and restaurants for snacks and drinks.

On longer ferry routes, such as from Barcelona and Valencia, you can choose from various cabin options, including standard cabins (internal or external with a sea view), deluxe cabins, cabins accessible for people with disabilities, and pet-friendly cabins. If you prefer, you can also relax on the deck and take in the stunning sea views during your journey.

For shorter crossings from Mallorca, cabins are typically not available, but you can book a numbered airplane-style seat for greater comfort. 

Most ferries to Menorca offer Wi-Fi access, allowing you to stay connected for a small fee.

Menorca has 2 main ports that connect the island to mainland Spain, France and the other Balearic Islands: Mahón port on the east coast and Ciutadella port on the west coast.

Mahón port, the largest and busiest on the island, is located close to the city center of Mahón and about a 10-min drive from the airport. On the opposite side of the island, Ciutadella port is smaller, situated around 2 km from Ciutadella’s historic center.

Mahón and Ciutadella are about 45 km apart and are well-connected by regular bus services.
