Day 1: Potamos

The ferry docks in Potamos' main village, giving you a first taste of the island's laid-back vibes. It is Antikythera's largest settlement and port, where you will find only the necessities, such as 2-3 taverns, a café, and a mini market.

The buildings in the island's main alleys have a unique architecture that takes you back in time. Locals can be found drinking ouzo and eating meze in the central square. We recommend making a quick stop for a quick chat and a taste of the local cuisine.

The beach of Xiropotamos, east of Potamos, is one of the island's few sandy beaches and an ideal choice for the first day of your trip, as it is easily accessible and will reward you with its blue waters.

The Castle, the most famous archaeological site on the island, towers above the bay of Xiropotamos. It is a hellenistic-era fortified city that has been almost entirely preserved, with walls reaching a height of 6 meters. Definitely worth a visit!

Day 2: The beaches

Kamarela has one of the most impressive landscapes on the island. A stunning bay with a complex of rocks sculpted by nature.

Bring your camera and make everyone wonder what Game of Thrones setting you're in. If you feel brave enough, you can take the steep dirt road, put on your mask, and take a dip.

Aside from the beach of Xiropotamos, many visitors prefer to swim at Halara, which is located in Potamos. It's good to know that in Antikythera nature comes first, so you can relax and forget about sunbeds and umbrellas for a while.

Tip: make sure to bring a snack and water with you before diving.

Day 3: The hiking trails

What is the best way to discover the island's wonders? But, of course, walking along its beautiful paths. In addition, the island is small enough that you can get around without a car.

One of the experiences worth having while visiting Antikythera is visiting the Lighthouse of Apolytara via a path that will take your breath away due to the wild beauty of the landscape. As Antikythera is a well-known migratory bird passage, nature lovers may have the opportunity to see a rare bird species.

The path to the ancient site of Agia Triada and the temple of Apollo at the top of the island, from which you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Ionian Sea, is a must.
