Meals on Finnlines ferries is a special experience! On board, you will find buffet restaurants where you can enjoy many different dishes and tastes. There are also options for families with kids.

On the 30-hour ferry trip from Travemünde to Helsinki meals are served at the Mare Balticum restaurant. Its delicious buffet is based on Finnish and German cuisine delicacies, and has special themes from May to October. The Bar & Bistro Navigare has an informed list of drinks (with an emphasis on bubbles!). For mouthwatering snacks, such as salmon sandwiches and cinnamon bus, you will hang out at Star Café.

On ferries from Travemünde to Malmö, you will also enjoy a quality buffet with a variety of options. Pick the meal package that suits you best: there are two-meal deals for day/night departures, as well as breakfast+brunch and night snack options.

Tip: it’s best to choose and book a meal package in advance so you can save some money.

On Kapellskär - Långnäs and Kapellskär - Naantali ferries buffet meals are always included in the ticket fare. Have a snack and refreshments at the Bar & Bistro Navigare and relax at the Panorama Lounge living room, for the best archipelago views.

Shopping on Finnlines ferries

What better way to pass the time on the ferry than a good shopping therapy? You can’t miss a visit at the Sailor’s Shop where you will make exciting discoveries, try new flavors and be extra satisfied if you have a sweet tooth!

In the shop selection you will find cosmetics, jewelry, sweets, souvenirs, clothing, spirits and snacks, so you can treat yourself and the ones back home.

Important: thanks to Åland’s tax privileges, you can buy duty-free products on the Kapellskär - Långnäs route. Take advantage of the tax-free shopping opportunities when the ferry makes a stop in Långnäs!

Finnlines wellness: saunas and gyms

Ever dreamt of running over the Baltic Sea? With Finnlines it is possible! Time spent on the ferry is an excellent opportunity to exercise. Onboard Travemünde - Helsinki ferries, you can take advantage of the gym facilities to run, row, pedal or lift some dumbbells. The gym is free of charge for all passengers!

Feeling tense after the workout? Why not pay a visit to the massage point and get rid of it?

Then again, if you want to get sweaty effortlessly, get all heated up in the ferry's Finnish style sauna! Bonus 1: there is also a jacuzzi. Bonus 2: it’s free of charge!

Absolute relaxation is also possible on the Kapellskär-Långnäs-Naantali route and on Malmö -Travemünde ferries, which are equipped with sauna facilities.

Finnlines accommodation: cabins and suites

Finnlines offers a wide range of accommodation options, from simple 2-bed ones to fancy suites! For families with children, there are spacious cabins including a double bed and bunk bed. There are also special cabins for people with disabilities and passengers traveling with pets. All cabins have a toilet/shower and satellite TV.

There are inside and outside cabins for 2, 3 or 4 persons for you to choose from. Some of Finnlines accommodation options, depending on your preference and budget, are:

Internet access on board

When boarding a ferry you can leave everything behind, but that doesn’t mean that you want to be disconnected. Want to check your emails, post a picture from the ferry on social media, or watch a movie? There are Wi-Fi packages available on Finnlines ferries!

All available Wi-Fi packages are time based and the connection period begins immediately after activating the Wi-Fi. There are small, medium and large packages, depending on the connection time and number of devices you need.

There are discounts available on certain Wi-Fi packages for Star Club members. Usually, you can also get a lower price if you purchase your package in advance.

Useful info: there is free Wi-Fi on deck 11 of the Finnswan, operating on the Naantali-Langnas Aland-Kapellskar route.

+ New Finnlines vessels in 2023

In October 2022, Finnlines announced the arrival of two new Superstar passenger vessels that will start operating on the Kapellskär-Långnäs-Naantali route in autumn 2023.

These new vessels will take the northern on-board experience to a next level: they will feature high-quality restaurants, a sauna and spa section, business and lounge facilities, extensive shopping areas and a variety of other services. Stylish interiors, with breathtaking views to the archipelago, is also a crucial part of their design.

The operation of the new ferries also focuses on green values and ecological policies, such the digitalisation of printed handouts (menus, price lists, etc.).
