When planning your trip from/to Mallorca you can take advantage of regular discounts offered by ferry companies. While these discounts vary from one company to another, you can typically expect infants to travel for free, while children up to 13 years old get 30% to 50% off.

Some ferry companies also offer discounts to seniors (60+ or 65+) and residents of the Balearic Islands.

The best time to book your ferry tickets to Mallorca depends on your travel dates and how flexible you can be.

For trips during the peak summer season (June to August), it’s best to book your tickets at least 2 months in advance, especially if you’re traveling with a car, to secure your spot and avoid last-minute stress.

If you’re planning to visit in the off-peak seasons, you can afford to book your Mallorca ferry tickets closer to your date of departure. Keep in mind though, that some routes are seasonal and there are fewer daily crossings during the off-peak months, so you may need to be more flexible.

There are multiple daily ferry crossings to Mallorca, operated by both conventional and high-speed ferries, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable journey. Ferries come equipped with a range of amenities, including air-conditioned lounges, onboard bars and restaurants for snacks and drinks, and Wi-Fi access to keep you connected throughout your trip.

On longer journeys, such as from Barcelona and Valencia, you can choose from various cabin options, including standard cabins (internal or external with a sea view), deluxe cabins, cabins accessible for people with disabilities, and pet-friendly cabins.

On shorter journeys from Ibiza, cabins are not available, however, you can book a numbered airplane-style seat for greater comfort.

Mallorca has 2 main ferry ports: Palma de Mallorca on the west coast and Alcúdia on the east coast. 

The port of Palma de Mallorca is the island’s largest and busiest port, located in the middle of the city. As a major hub for ferries, cruise ships and private yachts, it offers a variety of amenities, including shops, restaurants and car rental services. The port is well-connected to the island’s main roads and public transport options make it easy to reach the city, nearby beaches and Palma de Mallorca Airport, which is about a 20-min drive away.

The port of Alcúdia, located approximately 1.5 km from the old town, serves ferry routes mainly to and from Menorca, as well as mainland Spain. You can easily access Alcúdia’s port by car, taxi, or local bus routes connecting it to the town center and surrounding areas.
