Top things to do in Spetses in 1 day
A few hours in the pearl of the Saronic Gulf are enough to explore some of the best parts of the island. Once you reach Dapia, the heart of Spetses Town and the new harbor of the island, you will find many historical sites and traditional shops.
Since there are many options, we’ve gathered ideas on the best things to do in Spetses in one day, so you can enjoy your Greek island getaway to the fullest.
The first thing we would suggest you do is go for an ice cream at Alfi’s. After that, head to Agios Mamas beach for a refreshing swim. On one part of this beach you will find sand and pebbles, and on the other, an elevated concrete plateau with sunbeds and umbrellas.
Closer to the old harbor of Spetses you will find Agios Nikolaos, a smaller and more peaceful beach. If, on the other hand, you’re looking for a more cosmopolitan beach, we would suggest Kaiki. This beach offers various amenities, such as a water sports center, sun loungers, umbrellas, and a restaurant.
If you want to know more about Spetses, don't miss a chance to try the island’s specialties. There are plenty of seaside tavernes near the organized beaches of the island and at the Clock Square (Plateia Rologiou), you will even find Italian, Asian and American restaurants.
Before your departure at 18:30, we suggest visiting the Bouboulina Museum and then wandering around the island’s picturesque alleys and its shops. From all the local products, our favorites are the Greek almond macaroons or amygdalota.
Local tip: a great way to experience the island is to rent a bicycle. Other alternatives include a boat or a horse carriage.
