Are you wondering what is so special about the island and everyone wants to go back? Well, grab a pen and keep some notes for the island of the goddess Aphrodite. It is true that the impressive volcanic creation formed by underwater eruptions knows how to put a spell on you! Can you resist?

As soon as you approach the island of Milos, you see the hill of the village of Adamas dotted with white Cycladic houses. Hop off the ferry with your car (you will need it 😛) and get ready to fall in love!

In just 10 minutes from the port, you will be at the picture-postcard village of Klima! Grab the camera and get ready for amazing photos with the characteristic two-story colorful fishermen's houses in the background. Here you will also see sirmata, wires that fishermen used so they could pull the fishing boats to the shore.

Next stop to the famous catacombs for a deep dive into the distant past of Milos! The burial site of the early Christians is reminiscent of a labyrinth of soft volcanic tuff. From afar, catacombs look like holes carved into the rocks and you will definitely be impressed by the ancient inscriptions written in blue and red.

After taking a little taste of one of Milos's most important archeological findings, it's time to take a break to cool off! Head to Plaka, the island's capital, for the most delicious watermelon pie.

Combine this local sweet treat with homemade lemonade and regain strength in order to climb the stairs leading to the Venetian Castle of Milos. Enjoy the end of the day with the most beautiful crimson sunset at peace since there are no crowds of tourists around in June!

And now that you've seen the fiery red sun setting from the hill of Plaka and have visited the impressive fishing villages, it's time for deep dives and relaxation! For the best beach hopping in Milos, you will return to the port of Adamas. From there, you will take the boat to tour the most enchanting beaches of Milos!

However, to enjoy endless dives on the most beautiful beaches of Milos, you will need a boat. Start your beach hopping from Kleftiko beach with huge rocks and turquoise waters. As you splash, take a more exploratory look at the surrounding rocks, where pirates once used to hide!

A little further down the road is the enchanting cave of Sykia. It is a natural pool with crystal-clear waters and an open round top that lets you gaze at the blue sky! If you are looking for a beach instead, go to the mesmerizing Fyriplaka beach, located in the southeastern part of the island.

However,  if you're craving fresh fish by the sea, Paleochori is the place to be! It has a wide sandy beach, colorful pebbles and fish grilled in the sand. Yes, you read that right! Thanks to the geothermal field, you can enjoy delicious grilled fish in the sand, ready in just 20 minutes.

Of course, you can't leave the island without seeing the famous lunar landscape of Sarakiniko beach! The marks from the bollards of the Saracen pirate ships and the fish fossils on the white rocks are just some of the things that you simply can't miss. No wonder why everyone keeps coming back for more dives over its white volcanic rocks!
