Agistri is a favorite low-cost island near Piraeus, the main port of Athens, attracting both families and young travelers. It offers budget accommodations, quiet little tavernas and a lovely pine forest that reaches down to the sea.
During your holiday here, you can go hiking, cycling or swimming in scenic coves and beaches easily accessible with or without a vehicle. The main beaches are Dragonera and Aponisos.

2. Aegina
Aegina is one of the closest islands to Athens (30 minutes to 1.5 hours from Piraeus) and one of the most popular budget-friendly destinations. It combines cheap ferry tickets, charming neoclassical mansions and a variety of dining and entertainment options for all budgets.

4. Poros
This lush green island in the Saronic Gulf is an affordable year-round destination. Just 1 to 2.5 hours from Athens, Poros is perfect for quick getaways.

Syros, the capital of the Cyclades, is only 2 hours away by high-speed ferry and 3.5-4 hours by conventional ferry from Piraeus.
Famous for its vibrant cultural scene, Syros combines elegance and tradition. Enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere of Ermoupolis, explore the medieval town of Ano Syros and visit neoclassical buildings such as the Apollo Theater and the Town Hall.

6. Kea (Tzia)
Kea or Tzia is the closest Cycladic island to Athens and one of the most affordable. Just 1 hour from Lavrio, Kea has at least 5 daily ferry crossings in summer.
Despite its growth in tourism, Kea retains its traditional charm. There’s an organized campsite in Pisses beach, along with hidden gem tavernas offering delicious, low-cost meals. We recommend heading up to the lovely capital, Ioulida, for meat, and to the port of Korissia or Vourkari for seafood and a relaxed evening drink. 7. Andros

Your first stop will be Tinos Town and the Church of Panagia Evangelistria. Then visit Volakas with its unique rock formations, Ysternia, Dyo Choria, and Pyrgos. The island is also known for its marble craftsmanship and its intricate dovecotes.
