Where to take the ferry from Amalfi to Capri

Ferries and hydrofoils to Capri depart from Molo Cassone in Amalfi, which is about a 10-min walk from the Cathedral of Sant'Andrea, one of the town's landmarks.

Can I travel on the ferry from Amalfi to Capri with a car?

You cannot bring your car on the ferries and hydrofoils to Capri from Amalfi.

If you wish to reach Amalfi by car, you should consider that there is no free parking in the area. The only option is to leave your vehicle in a paid parking lot. Costs range between €2 and €5 per hour.

Important: from Easter until the beginning of November, the circulation of cars, motorcycles and mopeds in Capri is prohibited for non-residents.

Ferry luggage

The companies that operate on the Amalfi - Capri ferry route have different policies for luggage:

  • On NLG ferries, you can carry 1 piece of luggage with a maximum size of 50x30x15 cm and a maximum weight of 5 kg free of charge.
  • Positano Jet charges an additional fee for each bag, regardless of size. There is no restriction on the number of bags you can bring.
  • With Alicost and Alilauro Gruson, you can bring 1 piece of luggage up to 9 kg, with maximum dimensions of 50x35x20 cm, free of charge.

Note that extra charges may apply for luggage exceeding the limits mentioned above.

Cabins

Given the short duration of the Amalfi - Capri route, there are no cabins on the ferries and hydrofoils. Onboard seating is included in the ticket price.

Pet travel 

You can travel with your pet on the boat from Amalfi to Capri, as long as you include it in your booking and pay a small fee.

Smaller animals must be kept in special carriers, while large-sized animals should wear a muzzle and a leash.
